Roger Gorringe trained at Willesden Technical School of Art and Hornsey College of Art. He spent the first 12 years of his career working at Commercial Studios as an illustrator and lettering artist.
He turned freelance in 1973, producing illustrations for advertising, publishing and packaging.
His subjects have been naturally influenced by a lifelong interest in natural history. Commissions include numerous fruit paintings for food and cosmetic packaging, wild plant, bird and animal books, some medical illustration, two covers for Readers' Digest, and more recently, illustrations for design featuring on the cover of the Basement Jaxx 'Kish Kash' CD. He also designs and illustrates stamps.
